Tell us a little more about Little Miss Period?

Hello and thank you for having me! Little Miss Period is a safe and inclusive space where people who menstruate can be equipped with all the knowledge and products to ride their

period rollercoaster. Little Miss Period has a wide range of period care including Period Boxes, Period Briefs, Menstrual Cups, Reusable Pads and Educational Books! Helping People like you and me through the ups, downs, ins and outs. We are here to inspire, empower, educate and support you!

What made you want to start your own business?

Great Question! I felt there was a gap in this area - a personable gap that needed to be filled. As I mentioned earlier, I wanted this to be a safe and inclusive space that anyone could come to! I was 12 when I got my first period and my Mum had left a packet of tampons on my bed! I had no idea what to do and I was too embarrassed to ask. My purpose of Little Miss Period is to create conversations that are comfortable, positive and free of embarrassment!

What are some great period products on the market at the moment?

There are so many! I love that there is so much variety. Period briefs are a great sustainable starting option for teens and there are so many cute colours and prints available too! I know lots of young people who menstruate are using menstrual/cups and discs too - obviously environmentally conscious but also much better for our bodies than tampons!

Which product would you recommend for a girl getting her first period?

I think period briefs are the perfect first product for a teen having there first period! You could pair it up with a reusable pad or liner for double protection too!

As a mum to three girls, what’s a great piece of period-related advice?

I think the best piece of period advice I could give as a Mum is don’t hide it! Let them see you changing over a pad or taking our a menstrual cup. This will show your children that it’s perfectly normal and prompt the conversations to begin! Also so important to use anatomically correct names for our body parts too. No age is ever too early either.

How essential to having your period is chocolate?

Essential. And mine will always come in the form of a spoon and a jar of Nutella!

What were you like as a tween?

I was super sporty! I loved soccer, cricket and football. I played sport virtually every day! Looking back, I think exercise helped me a lot with things like period pain, hormone changes and mood swings (Not that I will ever admit that I had mood swings to my Mum!)

What’s next for Little Miss Period?

So many exciting adventures! We have just launched our wet bags that are perfect for travelling, sleepovers and school. ANDDDD Our Period Stories and Affirmations will be coming very soon in a cute little box to store on the bedside table!
