SK8Boarding!
Francesca recently got her first skateboard after months of campaigning. Turns out it’s a lot of fun and not as hard as it looks!
You can do it alone or with friends
Unlike team sports, skateboarding can be done just as happily by yourself as when you’re in a group. Skate alone and enjoy the peace and quiet or skate with friends and have fun together! A really versatile pastime.
It’s not that hard to learn
Skateboarding might look difficult but it really isn’t that hard to get the basics right. Sure tricks take a lot longer to master, but learn how to balance, how to control the board and how to fall properly and it’s easy to enjoy from there.
Go anytime you like
The joy of being able to grab your board and go, anytime and anywhere. You don’t need your parents to drive you, it doesn’t take any work to set up, just grab your board (and your helmet!) and you’re good to go.
Healthy exercise
Skateboarding is a great exercise, and most of the time you don’t even realise it! Not only does it keep you fit, but skateboarding helps to make your legs and core stronger.
Great for Concentration
If you have a hard time concentrating, skateboarding might help you to work on that as it’s a sport that requires a lot of focus and control. At the same time it will also improve your balance and coordination!
