Hi Franc.World! I’m Samantha Tolley and I am the Chief Bargain Finder at Addicted to Bargains. Looking to give your tween/teens room a glow up but don’t want to spend an absolute fortune? Check out my Luxe for Less bedroom styling tips for your tweens through to teens.

BEDS

A classic white bed like the IKEA Hemnes Bed (available in single or double) will grow with your tween through to their teen years. The great thing about IKEA is that they have a whole series of furniture to match this particular bed. If you need a tall boy or side drawers, they will have something to match. Alternatively, a bed head is an affordable option and can be replaced as their taste changes.

The Lombok Bed (available in single or double) from Fantastic Furniture is another fabulous option that will have your tween swooning.  Buying a bed from a furniture store is a better option as you are more likely to get the varying sizes and matching furniture. Keep in mind, with a neutral coloured bed it is less likely to date as quickly. All you need to do to keep the room looking shmick and change the bedding and décor to suit your tweens evolving style.

TIP: if your tween loves a bit of colour then the Big W Bed Head (available in grey and pink) is a lovely option.

  1. HEMNES Bed frame, white stain, Luröy, Double - IKEA

  2. Lombok Double Bedhead | Fantastic Furniture

  3. Home Trading Co Arch Bedhead Single - Pink | BIG W

QUILT COVERS

I love a textured quilt cover and I think it makes a quilt cover pop.  The Honor Quilt Cover set from Kmart or Madison Textured Quilt Cover from Target are great staple sets to have. Jazz it up with some cushions and throws and voila.

  1. Honor Cotton Quilt Cover Set - Double Bed, Pink - Kmart

  2. Madison Kids Textured Quilt Cover Set | Target Australia

If your tween loves a bit more colour/patterns (floral or animal print), the following are great affordable options from Kmart and Target (available in single and double).

  3. Valeria Floral Quilt Cover Set | Target Australia

  4. Kimba Reversible Quilt Cover Set - Single Bed - Kmart

  5. Aroha Reversible Quilt Cover Set - Single Bed - Kmart

TIP: get more bang for your buck with reversible quilt cover sets.  What’s better than 1 quilt cover…2 (for the price of 1)!!

OTTOMANS/STORAGE

You can never have enough storage especially in your tweens bedroom. If there is one thing tweens need is storage for all their bits and bobs. A storage ottoman is a versatile piece which can be used when they have friends over and for somewhere to keep all their treasures safe and sounds.

  1. Home Trading Co Fabric Storage Ottoman - Pink | BIG W

  2. Home Trading Co Arch Storage Box - Pink | BIG W (also available in grey to match the bed head)

  3. Aria Floor Rug - Natural - Small | Home Decor (mocka.com.au)

RUGS

Not only do rugs make a room look fabulous they protect your floor and carpet.

DÉCOR PIECES

Finishing touches I think most tweens need/want are décor pieces, jewellery boxes, prints, mirrors and lamps.

  1. Ombre Home Spring Fields Mood Board Natural (spotlightstores.com)

  2. 3 Tier Jewellery Box with Lid - Kmart

  3. Ombre Home Nature's Nirvana Wall Hanging Natural (spotlightstores.com)
