Healthy Snacks
You’ve come home from school and you’re starving. Somehow, your kind and caring mother/father/carer has not laid out a freshly prepared and delicious afternoon tea for your enjoyment. Luckily, thanks to this article, you’re able to prepare your own afternoon snack that is not only healthy, but super delicious. Well done you!
As a start, work out if you feel like something sweet or savoury (and also what is in the fridge/cupboard) – if you’re super organised, choose a recipe and add everything you need to the shopping list to make sure all ingredients are ready when you need them.
For sweet options, why not try banana bites dipped in chocolate or delicious yoghurt bark?
For savoury, think sandwich kebabs which are super fun to prepare (and eat!) or rice thins topped with a selection of yum toppings such as avocado, vegemite or cheese and tomato.
Finally, a great solution to afternoon hunger is bliss balls. Easy to make, bliss balls are usually filled with healthy ingredients and are great to eat on the go if you have after-school sport to get to.
Why not try this recipe for no bake 4 ingredient peanut butter energy bites. You only need oats, peanut butter, chocolate chips and maple syrup. YUM!
