August Book Club
How lucky are we that so many good books have been released this month! So grab a blanket, head outdoors into the sunshine (but like under a tree in shade so you’re sun safe), and get reading!
July Book Club
It’s July…which is nowhere near Summer ☹ But never mind! At least we have books and cosy blankets and Reece’s Peanut butter Cups! We also have some very cool new titles for this month’s book club thanks to our friends at QBD.
June Book Club
Hi Everyone! Welcome to our June Book Club thanks to our friends at QBD! This month is all about animal friends – whether it’s giant megafauna animals in Whylah, The Koorie Warrior, powerful creatures in Lightfall, Shadow of the Bird or downright monstrous beasts in The World’s Worst Pets, find a furry friend (or three) among this month’s pages. Let’s get reading!

Hi Everyone and welcome to our April Book Club thanks to our friends at QBD! This month we have an amazing selection of books for our older tweens, with stories covering historical events in WWII Russia; a converted ocean liner, and; a school age detective trying to solve a multi-million dollar art theft…
March Book Club
Hi Everyone! Welcome to our March Book Club thanks to our friends at QBD! This week we have an action-packed line-up for you covering a range of genres; from zombies to babysitters! Let’s get reading!
The Raven Heir - Stephanie Burgis
“She couldn’t stay a moment longer. Not in that room, and not in this big stone trap, either. Turning cat, she fled across the courtyard, through the archway that led to the kitchen gardens. They lay empty of people and interferences and rules, richly scented with growing herbs in the cool, violet air of twilight.”
Eliza Vanda’s Button Box - Emily Rodda
From one of Australia’s most beloved authors (Deltora Quest series, Rowan of Rin) comes this magical tale of spells, black jellybeans, friendship and buttons.
How I Became a Dog Called Midnight - Ben Miller
Thanks to a running parallelism with A Midsummer’s Night’s Dream, How I Became A Dog Called Midnight manages to be magical, adventurous, super fun and educational all at the same time.
Beautifully paced and with several wondrously intertwining plot lines, it is a joy to read, with ancient spells, friendships, a little romance, stolen jewels and one very large and loveable dog.
The Astonishing Chronicles of Oscar from Elsewhere - Jaclyn Moriarty
The Astonishing Chronicles of Oscar from Elsewhere involves two of Franc’s greatest loves, magic and skateboarding. It is written as an account of Monday through Friday at the request of Oscar’s Deputy Principal. (She wanted to know exactly what Oscar considered more important than coming to school last week.)
Kensy and Max Breaking News - Jacqueline Harvey
As the first book in the super fun spy series, Breaking News offers a fast-paced introduction to the world of super spy twins Kensington (Kensy) and Maxim (Max).
The School for Talking Pets - Kelli Anne Hawkins
Doctor Dolittle meets Willy Wonka! This book offers a really fun adventure, great characters and beautiful descriptions of so many animals, it’s a delight to read.
Treasure In The Lake - Jason Pamment
This book is fun! Not only is it a based on a grand adventure full of secrets and action, but it’s created in the form of a graphic novel, where the beautiful pictures tell much of the story.
Alice-Miranda in Paris
Everyone loves a series. Familiar characters, the excitement of a new title being released and a certain reliability that you already know you’re going to like the book.
