Today is ANZAC Day, a national day of remembrance in Australia and New Zealand that commemorates all those who have served and died during War. Observed on this day each year, it was originally created to honour the members of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) who served in Gallipoli during WWI (1914-1918).

St Patrick’s Day!
This Thursday is St Patrick’s Day, yay! In what was a traditionally Irish celebration to remember St Patrick (the Patron Saint of Ireland), the day is now a huge holiday to celebrate Irish culture with parades, special foods, music, dancing, drinking and a whole lot of green!
The Festival of Colour!
The Holi (Festival of Colour) has become known as India’s most vivid and joyous celebrations. Dating back to the 4th century CE, Holi marks the beginning of spring after a long winter. Traditionally, the celebration also included religious rituals for fertile land and productive crops for the new season. It is celebrated in March, corresponding to the Hindu calendar month of Phalguna.

March 1 is Shrove Tuesday, or Pancake Day. While it is a significant date in the Christian Church, it is also a delicious excuse to eat pancakes, (but really, do we need an excuse!)
